This piece has been inspired by the rainbow of hope campaigns, running during the Corona virus pandemic.

Created especially to help raise funds from its sales to the work of a charity called Branching out. They run a series of innovative programmes of woodland based activities for people with poor mental health.

With a focus to the one closest to my home  situated Blarbuie Woods.  I will be donating £2 from every heart in this design to them.  There is no denying that this horrible pandemic will have an effect on so many peoples mental health and well being.

By getting people back to nature, Branching Out helps to tackle the problems people face with anxiety, depression, isolation, and other long-term conditions. People overcome their problems together with support and teamwork out in the woods. Whether it’s through cooking food on a camp fire, building a shelter, walking, tai-chi or mindfulness, the natural landscape provides the perfect backdrop for encouraging an enhanced quality of life, engagement in social activities and peer to peer support.

This little heart measuring 80 mm in height and 60 mm across, with a bright rainbow of hope above. To hopefully bring joy and hope of brighter days to come.

Made from kiln fired glass, in my garden studio, Argyll.

Strung with 3 mm satin ribbon and finished with one of our etched wooden logo tags.

Each will vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the item.
